I know I may be slightly premature in posting a hotdish recipe, but I mean who doesn't love a good hotdish? If you're like we are, you might eat hotdish year round--because sometimes there just isn't anything better than a warm, cozy, pan of comfort food. Below is one of our all time favorite hotdish recipes that will be sure to warm your plate and your stomach!
Taco Hotdish
I should note: I had never even heard of this hotdish until I started dating Blake, and now I can't imagine my life without it. It's super simple, super quick, and sure to please anyone and everyone in your household.
Ingredients:
Ground Beef (1 or 2 lbs depending on how big/meaty you'd like your hotdish)
McCormick Original Taco Seasoning Packet
14 oz Daisy Sour Cream (I use the squeeze one)
2 cups of Mild Shredded Cheddar Cheese
Pillsbury Dough Sheet
1 bag of "Nacho Cheese" Doritos
Shredded Lettuce (optional)
Black Olives (optional)
Tomatoes (optional)

Step-by-Step:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
As the oven preheats, begin browning ground beef
Once the beef is browned, add the McCormick Taco Seasoning packet to the beef and follow package directions--adding 3/4 cup of water and simmering the meat
While beef/seasoning is simmering, spray the bottom of a 9x13 pan with cooking spray. Roll out the Pillsbury Dough Sheet on the bottom of the pan, spreading it out as evenly as you can
Take a handful of Doritos, crush them, and spread them over the dough sheet
Return to the beef and add in the entire Daisy Sour Cream Squeeze Container to the beef (or less if you desire). Stir until mixed well
Add the beef mixture to the top of the dough sheet/crushed Doritos
Take the mild cheddar cheese and sprinkle it over the meat mixture. If you're cheese fanatics like we are--feel free to add more cheese in this step if you like
Crush the rest of the Doritos and sprinkle them over the cheese
Place the hotdish into the oven--baking at 350 degrees for 20 minutes--or until the dough sheet on the bottom is golden/done
Serve with lettuce, tomatoes, black olives, sour cream, and enjoy!
We hope you enjoy this recipe as much as we do, and please let us know if you give it a whirl! I've also included ground beef thawing guidelines below (for a little educational aspect). Wishing you a lovely week ahead!
