Need a quick and easy meal idea for the family? Maybe you're just looking to expand your horizons and try something new? Either way--you've come to the right place!
Impossibly Easy Cheeseburger Pie is just that--impossibly easy. You'll need minimal ingredients, minimal time and effort, and you'll be rewarded with a tasty treat sure to warm your belly. If your lives are as busy as ours--or maybe even busier, than this is definitely a meal to add to your repertoire as chef of the household.
Impossibly Easy Cheeseburger Pie
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 25 minutes
Total Time: 40 minutes
Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef (it's better to use local beef, that's a proven fact, ha!)
1 large onion, chopped (1 cup)
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup Original Bisquick Mix
1 cup of milk
2 eggs
Step-by-Step:
In a skillet, cook the beef and onions together. Brown the beef, draining any excess fat. Stir in the salt.
Spread the meat mixture into a pie plate or bowl (I always spray mine lightly with nonstick butter to be on the safe side).
Sprinkle the cheese over the meat mixture.
In a small bowl, mix the remaining ingredients together (Bisquick, milk, eggs).
Pour the mixture into the pie plate/bowl--over the meat and cheese.
Bake about 25 minutes, or until a knife comes clean when poking in the center.
Like I said earlier, impossibly easy, right? Now Blake and I usually eat this with a side of ketchup--but there are so many other ways you can serve this meal and spice it up to your liking. Top the pie with items such as bacon, sliced avocado, mushrooms, fried onions--whatever floats your boat. Drizzle your favorite sauce over the top for some added kick, or simply enjoy it plain-Jane!
Let us know below if you end up giving this recipe a try, as we love to hear your feedback!
Side Note:
If you're ever interested in purchasing local beef, please let Blake and I know. We only have fat cattle (cattle for butcher) a couple of times a year since we don't sell beef full time--but you'd be supporting us directly if you chose to order! I can always direct you other places if you're ever in a bind or have an inkling/curiosity to taste the difference between local beef and store-bought beef. Trust me, if you haven't tasted the difference, you're missing out.
Wishing you a fantastic and impossibly easy week ahead!
